(prREACH) Many foods can make people fat, sick or depressed but those same people may be surprised by which ones. These foods are easy to avoid, once people know what they are. They do include some familiar ones, usually those that are processed or otherwise manipulated.
BeWellBuzz’s Oksana Shulepa said “free radicals” in these foods are why they often aren’t good for us. In her “Wellness Wednesday” segment, she explains how these “free radicals” get there and why they are damaging to the body. She notes which often common foods contain these chemicals and how to avoid them.
They range from the easy to spot, such as energy bars and substitutes for eggs and butter to artificial sweeteners and table salt, to the often innocuous, such as fructose, vegetable oils and the preservative BPA, often found in canned foods.
Some of Shulepa’s revelations are surprising, such as which foods normally considered as part of a low fat diet often sabotage that goal and which seemingly “natural” foods really aren’t. She also explains the damage that these “free radicals” can do to the body and how to counteract those effects. Finally, she will tell what some food manufacturing processes really do and how those things can be bad for a person’s health.
