Jul 02, 2015 /prREACH/ -- Here is a Fun, family event for kids that is supporting local charity that helps kids with disabilities. The Stearns Bagley Kids Festival is happening on Saturday July 18th from 10 am to Noon. The festival is next to The Big Creek Pet Hospital on the corner of Stearns and Bagley in Olmsted Township.

The children can read to Fagin the golden retriever, or another service dog. Each reader will receive a free book. The Olmsted Fire and Police Departments are bringing their vehicles for the kids to look at and get pictures taken on. Be sure to bring a camera.

There is also a variety of Fun Filled activity tables for kids of all ages and sizes. Balloon animals, prize ducks, Wheel of Fortune, etc. There is also a raffle.

The following businesses are sponsoring all the activities and prizes for this event- Olmsted Falls Library, Shakers Marketplace, Lorain National Bank, Ultimate Touch Styling, Uncle Al’s Pizza, Subway and, of course, Big Creek Pet Hospital. All the proceeds from this event will go to Working Animals Giving Service for Kids, WAGS 4 Kids.

WAGS 4 Kids is dedicated to empowering children with disabilities in Northeast Ohio by training and placing mobility assistance, service and skilled companion dogs with local youth. With early intervention and working with a family as early in a child's life as there is a need and an interest, each dog is custom trained to suit the child's specific needs and provide therapeutic, task, emotional and physical support for these children and their families.

All of the W.A.G.S. 4 Kids service dogs are currently trained at the MTC North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, where 11 inmates work with each of the six dogs that are always in the program. This is the Accredited Apprenticeship Program of The MTC in Marion, Ohio. The work of the inmate trainers is guided by the professional training staff of W.A.G.S. 4 Kids and each placement family receives in-home transition training and ongoing training support.
