Feb 23, 2018 /prREACH/ -- Each year individuals and couples make the decision to add a new member to their family. For some, this means that they have chosen to adopt a child. Deciding to adopt is easy, determining how to start the process can be difficult and many are under the impression that in order to adopt an infant, they have to seek an international adoption.

While international adoption is a fabulous way to add to a growing family, the truth is that  domestic adoption is not as difficult, time consuming, or expensive as it is often made out to be. A total of 18,000 infants are brought home directly from the hospital, never spending time in foster care, in the U.S. each year. The expenses associated with adoption tend to be uniform regardless of where the child is being adopted from and prospective parents in most cases are matched with their child in less than twelve months.

Adoptions From The Heart is a non-profit adoption agency with locations throughout the U.S. and their adoption professionals are dedicated to making sure that everyone involved in the adoption process, including birth parents, adoptive parents, and adoptees are supported. The agency offers counseling services, help finding medical insurance for pregnant women,  information on financial resources, assistance finding legal help, guidance through the home study process, and access to their database of waiting families.

Anyone who is interested in learning more about the domestic adoption process has the opportunity to attend a webinar hosted by Adoptions From The Heart on May 1st, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. The webinar, titled “Discover Domestic Adoption” will provide attendees with an outline of the adoption process and what they can expect. A social worker will be available to answer any questions at the end of the session. Participants are encouraged to register in advance.
