Jul 21, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Dr. Michelle Chang, general and cosmetic dentist in Omaha, NE is offering patients a more comfortable and attractive alternative to traditional metal braces with Invisalign clear braces. With Invisalign treatment, patients have more lifestyle flexibility, experience less pain and soreness, feel more confident about their smiles during treatment, and also experience healthier teeth during treatment than when compared with traditional metal braces.

Invisalign treatment consist of trays or retainers that are made of soft, clear plastic that gradually shift teeth into alignment over a period of 6-18 months. When worn, the aligners are virtually unnoticeable.

“Today’s culture is very image-conscious, and more and more patients are demanding a better way to achieve a straight and beautiful smile,” said Dr. Chang. “Invisalign is a fantastic alternative because it still produces the same results as traditional braces, but helps patients be much more confident and comfortable in the process.”

Due to the design of the Invisalign system, patients experience much less pain and soreness from teeth movement because the aligners apply less force than traditional braces. The design of the aligners themselves allows patients to feel much more comfortable, without invasive wires or brackets that can be an irritant to the inside of patients’ mouths. The aligners are also completely removable, affording patients much more lifestyle flexibility.

Invisalign aligners are custom-made for each patient by Dr. Chang using the latest 3D imaging technology. At the beginning of treatment, 12-48 different sets of aligners are created for the patient, with instructions for the patient to change the aligners every two weeks to gradually shift teeth into their final position.

Patients are instructed to remove the aligners while eating or drinking, which eliminates the problem of food getting stuck in wires and brackets, and also makes oral hygiene much easier. While proper brushing and flossing with traditional braces can take up to 30 minutes and require special products, Invisalign patients can care for their teeth just like normal, even during treatment.

In addition to offering Invisalign clear retainers in Omaha to her local patients, Dr. Chang and her staff at Anding Family Dental provide a variety of other dental services. Dr. Chang is experienced with both general and cosmetic dental procedures, including tooth-colored fillings, dental implants, teeth whitening, and porcelain veneers.

Dr. Michelle Chang received her DDS degree from Creighton School of Dentistry and has been practicing in Omaha for more than 15 years. She is a native of Honolulu, Hawaii and together with her husband, Galen, has been serving patients at Anding Family Dental for over a decade.
