Apr 22, 2014 /prREACH/ -- HONOLULU, HI - The City and County of Honolulu announced a new towing contract. All Island Automotive Towing has won the bid for a three year deal, with the possibility of a two year extension. All Island Automotive Towing will now handle all Honolulu Police Department initiated tows.

All Island boasts the use of GPS Fleet Tracking from GPS Heroes in all of its tow trucks to ensure customers aren't being overcharged for mileage. Officials say the devices also will reduce response times for removing traffic hazards and create electronic records to cut down on billing disputes. The system provides All Island Towing with real-time and historical position, speed and stop data on all of the company's towing vehicles.

Department of Customer Service Director Sheri Kajiwara stressed a need for transparency and consumer confidence in selecting the winning bid.
