Get a Check Up – Most men are adamant when it comes to getting their car’s checked up and cared for, usually several times per year. Go to Bed – There may not be enough time in the day to get everything done, but staying up and working long hours to find the time does much more harm than good. Sleep is a vital part of keeping healthy. The body needs down time to repair and revitalize. Lack of sleep builds up over time, and can cause mental, physical, and emotional problems that gradually increase.
People who do not get enough sleep also have increased likelihood of weight gain, type 2 diabetes, heart problems, depression, and a decreased ability to concentrate. Conversely, however, it is not as simple to catch up on sleep. Staying up and working or playing all hours of the night only to sleep longer on weekends does not repair the damage done during the week. A study by the American Cancer Society showed that adults who got at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep each night on a regular basis had less mortality over a six year span than those who slept both more and less hours each night.
Soak to Relax the Mind and Body – Stress is a huge factor in disease. There is a lot of stress that bombards people every day from every direction. Work, school, and family all cause various degrees of pressure and stress in their lives. Even their own health issues can cause internal stress. Setting aside some time each day to relax and soothe tired, sore muscles helps alleviate a great deal of stress. One way to do that is to add a hot tub to the home.
