Oct 15, 2016 /prREACH/ -- The Advanced Training Institute (ATI) in Las Vegas, Nevada is proud to announce that it recently received accreditation from the National Automotive Technician Education Foundation (NATEF).

ATI is a technical school located in Las Vegas, Nevada that was established in 2002. Initially ATI solely offered an HVAC Technician program, but in 2012 it added an Automotive Technician program. Now ATI also offers an Electrician program as well as a Personal Trainer program.

Since launching its Automotive Technology program in 2012, ATI has been working hard to achieve the prestigious NATEF accreditation. NATEF is an independent accrediting body that was established in 1983. The mission of NATEF is to improve the quality of automotive technician training programs across the country. To achieve this goal, NATEF examines the quality of training programs in secondary and post-secondary public and proprietary schools nationwide. NATEF then compares each school’s program to industry standards. In order to meet NATEF standards, schools must demonstrate that their programs prepare students with the skills they need to succeed in the automotive industry.

Peter Mikhail, president of ATI, states, “ATI is proud to have secured accreditation from NATEF and know it will benefit students and employers alike. Students in the Automotive Technician program can rest assured that they will receive a quality education from ATI and that they will be well prepared to find an entry level job after graduation. Employers can hire ATI graduates with confidence that they are well prepared for the job. It’s a win-win situation.”

Not only do students and employers benefit when schools like ATI receive accreditation from NATEF; the automotive industry as a whole benefits. When automotive technicians are trained in programs that are held to high standards such as those required by NATEF, the entire automotive industry is brought to a new level of professionalism. In a nation with an estimated 253 million cars on the road, it is a good thing that there are organizations such as NATEF and schools such as ATI that believe in the importance of providing quality education to the automotive technicians in training.
