May 03, 2017 /prREACH/ -- First established in 1993, a group called the Million Dollar Advocates Forum which also includes the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, seeks to recognize hard working trial attorneys who have obtained million or multi-million dollar verdicts.

Only about 1% of all trial attorneys in the United States are members and the group believes that members have demonstrated that they are more than capable of obtaining superior results even in the most complex of cases.

Recently, Mr. Marc Freund of Lipsig, Shapey, Manus, & Moverman, became one of the newest members of both the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum after he successfully obtained a $13 million verdict for one of his clients.

The client, in this case, had fallen down a dilapidated set of stairs in an apartment building. The fall caused her to fracture both of her legs and shatter one of her ankles. Her injuries were so extensive that she has had to undergo several surgeries and extensive physical therapy. Unfortunately, she was unable to complete the recommended physical therapy because she couldn’t afford it. Due to her injuries, she is unable to return to her previous career as a hairdresser, where she is required to stand for hours at a time.

During her trial, Mr. Freund presented evidence to the jury, showing that the company in charge of maintaining the building knew of an ongoing issue with that specific staircase and had, in fact, repaired more than eleven steps in the six months leading up to the accident. He argued that if the company had only made repairs to the entire staircase at once, his client would never have fallen.

Thanks to his investigation and hard work, the jury determined that his client should be awarded $9 million for her physical pain and suffering, as well as $4 million for her medical expenses and lost wages.
