Aug 14, 2015 /prREACH/ -- Jankel, a leading provider of protected and tactical vehicles to military, government and aid agencies throughout the world, is delighted to be working with Marvel and the Avengers film franchise. Following on from a successful partnership in previous Marvel films, Jankel was once again approached by Marvel Studios to supply several vehicles to Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron”. The studio wanted to include genuine military vehicles within the film to create an authentic look and feel on screen.

Jankel supplied six vehicles for filming purposes. As a leading manufacturer of light tactical vehicles, Jankel had several variants within its fleet that were suitable for use in the movie.

The hero vehicle was built on Jankel’s Pegasus ‘Special Operations Vehicle’, which is based on the Jeep J8; a heavily modified militarised platform suitable for a variety of roles including patrol and surveillance missions. Marvel’s team also used Jankel Fox vehicles – long range patrol variants, offering the most customisable, lightweight, all-terrain platform in its class.

“Working with a movie studio was an exciting experience for Jankel” commented Mark Mackenzie, Head of Jeep Business “The vehicles are deployed in some of the most challenging environments in the world and Marvel’s requirements represented new ways of testing its capability”.

Jankel Chairman Andrew Jankel added that Jankel is known for its problem solving skills. When Marvel approached them to supply movie vehicles they certainly gave the company a new build task, but as always Jankel was up for the challenge.

When Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron required light military vehicles Jankel was the obvious choice to partner with, providing two variants that fitted the specifications perfectly, as the production company always look to work with authentic suppliers wherever possible.
