Jan 31, 2014 /prREACH/ -- Dr. David Scharf Introduces All-on-4 Dental Implant Treatment In Long Island

Dr. David Scharf, a Board Certified Periodontist based in Long Island, New York, is proud to announce that the All-on-4 dental implant procedure will now be available at his practice. This efficient and effective procedure features a number of patient-centered benefits and enables patients to restore their smiles with one, day-long implant denture procedure that preserves dental health.

Dr. Scharf says that he is extremely pleased to be able to offer the service to patients who may otherwise avoid seeking dental treatment: "It is most gratifying to see how patients blossom when they are no longer hindered by loose dentures or an embarrassing smile. That all this can occur in one day speaks to how advanced our implant therapy has become."

The All-on-4 procedure allows for implant placement without the need for bone grafting. This saves patients money and time, and simplifies the procedure.

Before the launch of the All-on-4 procedure, patients would have needed to have extensive bone grafting done, or be required to wear a denture before being able to progress to a bridge supported by dental implants. As a result, many patients would typically avoid having dental implant treatment, as they did not want to wear dentures, exacerbating problems with their dental health.

Because of the All-on-4 solutions, a patient can arrive at Dr. Scharf's practice in the morning, have his or her teeth removed and then have the dental implants placed, with minimal inconvenience and discomfort. Dr. Scharf will then connect a temporary bridge to the teeth implants, eliminating bone grafting or the necessity of wearing dentures. A fixed bridge will be made between four and six months later, but in the interim period, patients can chew, smile and feel confident about their teeth immediately afterwards.

This innovative new approach will make a major difference to the way patients view their dental care and treatment options. Due to the fact that the procedure can be completed in one day, costs to the patient, and recovery times, are also kept to a minimum.

A well respected lecturer, speaker, educator and long standing member of the Long Island community, Dr. Scharf has become as renowned for his patient ethos as for his technical ability during his professional career. He has been voted "Best Dentist on Long Island" by the Long Island Press for the last five consecutive years: 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014. The addition of the All-on-4 treatment procedure complements Dr. Scharf's practice philosophy and continues to ensure that patients' needs and wants are prioritized and that the latest, most cutting edge treatments are made available in the interests of good dental health. Dr. Scharf's areas of specialty include dental implants, laser periodontal therapy, partial dentures and gum reconstruction.
