The intraoral camera is a wand-like device that can be inserted into small areas of the mouth to take colored photographs of the teeth and gums. The camera, which is placed on the end of the wand, produces digital photographs that show up immediately on the screen for both dentist and patient to see.
Images taken with the intraoral camera can show details of the teeth more than 40 times their actual size.
