Dr. Kawakami’s focus on excellence, service and patient care have garnered him a collection of awards and achieved memberships in notable dental associations around the world. Along with the awards he’s accumulated, Dr. Kawakami is also a proud member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a professional association boasting over 38,000 general dentists. AGD members are charged with “providing quality dental care and oral health education to the public” and must also “stay up-to-date in their profession through a commitment to continuing education.” The AGD is the second-largest association of its kind in the US, and is the only association that exclusively represents the needs and interests of general dentists since its foundation in 1952.
Dr. Kawakami is also a member of the International Association of Dentists (IAD). The IAD is a unique organization, building membership through curated selection experienced, forward thinking specialists who focus on high-quality care and are thought leaders in their specialty, often resulting in their recognition as a “consumer’s first choice.” IAD members are also published in The Leading Physicians of the World, a directory which includes professional biographies of top doctors from all specialties and is distributed globally. Dr. Kawakami is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry which strives for technological and professional leadership and encourages philanthropy throughout the field.
