Using the latest 3D technology, Stephen J. Matarazzo, D.M.D. designs a series of aligners made from clear, smooth plastic that will gradually shift teeth into alignment over the course of about nine months. In addition to a better appearance, Invisalign provides orthodontic patients with greater flexibility in their lifestyle during treatment.

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign patients are not restricted from eating certain foods. Patients are instructed to wear the clear plastic aligners for 22 hours per day, removing them for eating, brushing and flossing. In special circumstances, patients can also remove their aligners to ensure a flawless appearance such as for reunions, family photos, important meetings, or other events.
Invisalign patients experience less hassle and discomfort than if they were wearing traditional braces, and are only required to visit the dentist for checkups every six weeks. Patients are instructed to replace their aligners every three weeks to allow for the gradual shifting of teeth.
