Oct 09, 2013 /prREACH/ -- Actor Dylan Mcdermott who stars in the new CBS show "Hostages" and also starred in  "American Horror Story" as well as  "The Practice" has been volunteering his time teaching acting classes to a group of aspiring professional actors at The Ruskin School of Acting in Santa Monica CA. McDermott studied with legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner at The Neighborhood Playhouse School of Theatre in New York city were he met and became friends with John Ruskin. John Ruskin was picked by Sanford Meisner to become his apprentice and teach with him  on the acting staff at The Neighborhood Playhouse. The Ruskin School offers a two year course of study in the Meisner Technique along with the "Scene Study with Master Teachers" class that Mr. McDermott has taught. Other guest teachers who have taught the master class include Anthony Hopkins, Ed Asner, David Mamet, Ed O'Neill, Jim Belushi, and Bruce Davison to name just a few.
