May 08, 2015 /prREACH/ -- On April 19, 2015, valued community resident and Primal Fit member Rebeca Kollaras died suddenly and unexpectedly at the young age of 45. She left behind many loved ones, but more importantly, she left behind her beautiful 10 year old daughter Zoe, whom Rebecca was raising as a single mother. She suddenly passed away April 19 at the age of 45 and is survived by her 10 year old daughter Zoe.

Out of such tragedy, some people at Kolloras’ longtime gym have come together to raise $50,000 for Zoe with a GiveForward online fundraising campaign.

As of the publication of this story, the campaign has raised just over $39,700.

The campaign is being organized by the owner of Primal Fit Miami Matt Pack, a friend of Kolloras.

“Miami Shores is a small community and everybody knows everybody. She was loved by so many people,” Pack said. “I saw her two hours a week for four years. I don’t think I had that much time with my wife.”

Kolloras worked as a public relations professional, traveling all over the world, working with large and small companies. She also was active in the life of Miami Shores, serving as an advocate for Miami Shores Elementary, where Zoe goes to school. Collars also maintained an active blog called UncomMom.com. She described herself as a mixture of “Carrie Bradshaw and Erma Bombeck.”

Zoe is now being cared for by her grandparents. Now is the time for the Miami Shores community to come together and help ensure that Zoe has everything she needs to live a fulfilled and beautiful life. Individuals can help right now by donating to a special fund benefitting Zoe on giveforward.

Also, community member are invited to attend a block party in celebration of Rebecca’s life and to support Zoe: Block Party for Zoe! Saturday, May 16th • 3-7 p.m. 98th Street & NE 2nd Avenue.

There will be food, games, music and more. This fun afternoon celebrating Rebecca’s life and supporting Zoe will include $10 / wristbands that offers unlimited food and drink. To find out how you can get involved with the block party or other ways to assist Zoe, contact Matt Pack of Primal Fit at 305.392.0624.
